A Stronger Voice (2025)

Strategic design case for Novafos / Operate

Collaboration between Freja Holm Thorsen and Anton Bruusgaard M.

Novafos faced a challenge: How do you make the invisible visible? This strategic design case repositions water from mere infrastructure to a shared legacy.

Through research, we identified key challenges: water remains unseen despite its environmental impact, bold solutions are needed for future resilience, and the balance between short-term fixes and long-term strategy is critical. Our response, A Stronger Voice, transforms Novafos’ 50-year vision into a multi-platform narrative that resonates emotionally.

A short film forms the core, blending archival and contemporary footage to portray water’s enduring significance. This is extended through a series of postcards and a traveling exhibition in public libraries, making the message widely accessible.

These touchpoints create a layered communication strategy—bridging past, present, and future while enhancing public awareness through storytelling.

The 50-second film communicating the nature, happiness, and community water provides, with lasting, therapeutic impact beyond technical aspects.

By placing the exhibition in a setting dedicated to knowledge and curiosity, the message is positioned within a natural space for learning.
